A Little About Us

Rhian Houghton, RD
Rhian is a registered Dietitian (HCPC) who has over 15 years of experience working in the NHS, Private Practice and research.
Her clinical experience spans across various specialities including heart health, diabetes, PCOS, bariatrics and disordered eating and eating disorders.
She currently works within a large NHS Bariatric Unit. She supports people both pre & post-surgery with a big focus of her work being around helping people develop a deeper awareness of their eating patterns and behaviours, their relationship with food and exploring emotional and disordered eating as well as working collaboratively to support people with behaviour change.
Rhian has engaged in further training in nutritional counselling for eating disorders, intuitive eating, and motivational interviewing to help support people in their recovery journey from disordered eating. More recently with the introduction of GLP-1 medication, Rhian has been part of pathway development for these medications in the NHS, the rollout of WeGovy in a Tier 4 Bariatric service and is involved in research into these medications.

Aoife McMahon, RD
Aoife’s experience as a registered dietitian spans a decade and includes NHS, HSE and Private Practice.
Aoife has experience in an NHS weight management service, providing pre and post bariatric care, and prescribing weight loss medications under a local Patient Group Directive.
Aoife now works for the HSE and privately delivering care for eating disorders, disordered eating and body image. She has a special interest in supporting patients in protecting their food and body relationship while navigating weight management offers such as GLP-1 medications.
Aoife has undertaken additional training in food and body image healing, nutrition counselling for eating disorders, motivational interviewing, weight stigma, intuitive eating and neuro-affirming care.

Is the webinar/ training suitable if I don’t work directly with eating disorders?
Absolutely! While eating disorder care is a focus, this webinar is relevant for anyone who works with people being prescribed or recommended GLP-1 medications for weight loss e.g. orthopaedics, diabetes, fertility, weight management and eating disorders (this is not an exhaustive list).
